Her work, exhibited in Finite Foto, documents how people act in a destination that advertises itself as a paradise filled with beautiful people having the time of their lives.
“As a traveler, I am fascinated by people’s behavior while they are on vacation,” Obert says. “I want to show a glimpse of what actually happens in these places.”
Obert mentors students and teaches art at Linfield College. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, and her exhibition, “Cybernetic Landscapes,” was named Portland’s Best Photography Show of 2009 by Willamette Week.
