Linfield ‘Best of the West,’ says Wall Street Journal

Linfield College is the best of the west, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In the recent Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings, Linfield was named the top college in the west in a rural or small-town setting. Linfield outranked colleges such as Washington State University, George Fox University, the University of Wyoming and the University of Idaho.

The publication ranked Linfield No. 166 nationally, out of more than 1,000 schools. Linfield was also ranked No. 66 for “Best Liberal Arts Colleges,” tied with Whitman College.

Additionally, Linfield placed in the top 200 nationally in two categories: graduate outcomes and academic resources. The ranking looks at alumni salaries and student debt for graduate outcomes, and academic spending and student-to-faculty ratios for academic resources.
