Huffington Post pays tribute to Linfield’s wine history archive

The Oregon Wine History Archive at Linfield College was praised in a recent Huffington Post column. The archive preserves historical documents and images, and even interviews with local winemakers.

“This is an example of a project that blends the historical with the contemporary,” the Post said in an article titled “The Legacy of the Digital Generation, “and we applaud Linfield for their innovative approach to collecting today’s history for tomorrow’s generations.”

The archive also played a role in “Grapes of Place,” a new Oregon Public Broadcasting documentary about early Oregon wine pioneers. Oregon Experience producers made use of the new Linfield archive, which preserves historical documents, images and interviews with winemakers, and the documentary was shot, in part, at Linfield College, which hosts the International Pinot Noir Celebration.
