Dr. Dawn Graff-Haight teaches health education at Linfield College. Her scholarly articles have focused on the role of prevention on children’s health issues and the development and implementation of Oregon health standards.
She has served as board president of the Oregon Association for the Advancement of Health Education and was appointed by the Oregon Department of Education to the Comprehensive School Health Education advisory committee. She serves on the editorial board of the Oregon Journal for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and was project coordinator/ editor (1998) and a reviewer (2004) of Oregon Standards for Health Education.
Graff-Haight co-authored Science Explorer, Human Biology and Health (Prentice Hall); edited Comprehensive School Health Education: Totally Awesome Teaching Strategies (Teachers’ Edition, Prentice Hall); and was a contributing author to Middle Grades Health Science (Prentice Hall). She is a trainer and facilitator with Oregon’s Healthy Kids Learn Better coalition and has given numerous presentations and keynote addresses on health education curriculum and the health issues of adolescents.
Graff-Haight was named Oregon College/University Health Educator of the Year in 2009 and 1997.
