Dr. Barbara Limandri has a doctorate of nursing science in psychiatric mental health nursing. Her publications and teaching focus on the mental health of women, intimate partner violence, family violence and the long-term consequences of childhood sexual and physical abuse. She has written about medical assessment and intervention in situations of family violence, the stigma associated with abuse, and the potential for further violence by sexual offenders and abusers. Limandri is also knowledgeable about depression and pregnancy.
She has taught at the graduate and undergraduate level for three decades, and her ongoing psychotherapy practice informs her research and teaching. Limandri serves on the editorial boards of several professional journals.
