Sociology Professor Amy Orr teaches and writes about race and ethnicity in America, discrimination, diversity and the impact of wealth and poverty on academic achievement. She also teaches and publishes articles about gender and the “boy crisis” in schools.

Dr. Orr has mentored and provided extensive support for multicultural and nontraditional students, especially Latinos. She chairs the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division at Linfield College.
