Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) – Call for Third-Party Comments
The Linfield University Good Samaritan School of Nursing will host the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) from Oct. 30–Nov. 1, 2023 when CCNE conducts its re-accreditation site visit for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree programs that include: 1) traditional BSN program; 2) accelerated BSN program; and 3) RN to BSN program. 19 Linfield employees complete Talent Development Program
A group of staff and faculty from across the university completed a personal leadership education program through Credo, Linfield’s partner on Moving the Needle (MTN). Offered exclusively to Credo’s MTN schools, the program promotes individual leadership growth and professional development surrounding trends and opportunities in higher education. Linfield Public Safety officials trained to administer lifesaving medicines
From counseling services to 24/7 courtesy rides, Linfield University promotes wellbeing and safety on campuses in many ways. Earlier this year, Linfield added a new resource to their toolkit: the university now has access to a supply of naloxone and EpiPens, and Linfield Public Safety (LPS) officials have been trained in using both in emergency situations. Tickets to the 50th annual Lū’au and Hō’ike April 29 are now on sale
Tickets to the 50th annual Lū’au and Hō’ike on April 29 are now on sale to the community. This beloved Linfield tradition is the result of months of work and dance practice from the Hui O Lōkahi students and consists of two parts: the Lu’au (traditional meal) will be held during three seatings at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. inside the Rutschman Fieldhouse. Then, at 7:30 p.m., the Hō’ike performances begin in Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
This year’s theme is “Maohi Nui” and celebrates the people of the Pacific. Expect a variety of traditional and modern dance, and even some poi (fire dancing) from Linfield students and the larger community. Continue reading
President Miles K. Davis announces creation of scholarship for Jamaican students
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Linfield University President Miles K. Davis announced in a speech Thursday that starting with the 2023-24 academic year, the university will offer up to five “last dollar” scholarships to students from Jamaica. The scholarships can be for as much as full tuition and fees and will be offered with an emphasis on students interested in the creative arts.
He made the announcement during his keynote address to the Creative Career Expo, an annual event from the Jamaican Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport. The event draws hundreds of students interested in studying creative fields to the Jamaica Conference Centre in the capital city of Kingston. Continue reading

Linfield mourns the passing of Donald “Don” Adams
Linfield lost an important member of its community this past weekend when Donald “Don” Adams, a cleaning services technician who oversaw the Anderson, Elkinton and Grover residence halls, passed away.
“He maintained the entire building — all three of them,” said Cleaning Services Manager Tim Stewart. “The bathrooms, the showers, the vacuuming, the service requests, you name it. He loved this environment; it was energizing for him.” Continue reading
Congratulations to the Finance and Administration team for completion of the FY2021-22
Linfield University’s Annual Audited Financial Statements have been released, and congratulations go to the entire team in Finance and Administration and beyond! Controller Paul Shillam noted that this milestone requires examining more than 35,000 different general ledger accounts; it takes the accounting and other departments weeks to finalize with the auditors.
