Around the world in 30 days

It’s Jan Term at Linfield, and for many students that means study abroad.Jan Term offers students a way to travel the world and see places they would have never been. The short winter semester, as its name suggests, takes place during the month of January, and provides fun ways for students to learn in different countries and earn credit at the same time.

Jan Term classes are full of exploration, innovation and opportunity, and Linfield even covers the airfare expense of the first study abroad trip.

Students record their experience in journals, which cover travels to small towns and big cities, from places in Africa, France and Japan, to Ireland, Ecuador and China. You can read journals from past trips and current travels, along with photographs that Linfield students have taken.

Some classes held this Jan Term include Health Care in India (“Must be able to walk long distances and live in developing world conditions”) and Political Change in Southeast Asia, held in Vietnam and Thailand.

Linfield also offers semester abroad studies for regular students and year abroad studies for foreign language majors. Students can study in a variety of places, from Hong Kong, England and Australia to New Zealand.
