This Library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code)
The US government is the largest publisher of books, journals, films, maps and databases in the world. Some of its publications are well known, but most government documents go unnoticed and unused. That is unfortunate because they are usually well-written, important sources of information which are an excellent resource for student research papers. All Oregon and Federal government documents which the Libraries receive are listed in Linfield WorldCat. Libraries Many of these listings include direct links to web sources. In addition, numerous research databases and search engines, like Google also contain government documents. For more information about accessing government documents see a Librarian.
