Linfield Libraries
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Before You Request
Before you request an item, make sure Linfield doesn’t already have it available locally.
Save Time: It’s much quicker to get an item if it's already at Linfield than to order it
from ILL. In fact, getting books, DVD's, CD's, etc. via ILL usually takes at least
seven days. Articles will generally arrive more quickly, within a few days or even sooner. See FAQs for more information. How to check if we have the resource you need locally
- Quick How-To PDF
- For books, check Linfield WorldCat by title, limiting to books
- For articles, check Linfield WorldCat by title (use parenthesis), limiting to articles. If that does not work, check journal title in Periodicals@Linfield to see if it is available full text. For more info, see the Research Tips.
- If you find neither books nor articles locally through previous steps, order them via Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
- Avoid using ILL to request textbooks for Linfield classes. Many libraries do not have textbooks and/or cannot loan them for extended periods.
- It may also be difficult to get newly released items from ILL. Fewer libraries have them and some won't lend them right away.
