Chemeketa's library resources are detailed at http://terra.chemeketa.edu/library

Computer Use at Nicholson Library
To use our desktop computers, please stop at the Circulation or Reference Desk and ask someone to log you on as a guest user. If we are busy, we will enforce a one hour visitor time limit.

If you choose to print, please pay for your copies at the Circulation desk: 5 cents per page for b/w and 25 cents per page for color.

You should be able to connect to the Internet via our wireless network as a guest, but you won't be able to print from our printers from a guest connection. Save your work and email or transport it via a flash-drive or thumb-drive to use our desktop computers if you wish to print here (see fees in the previous paragraph).

Finding Books

From Linfield library's home page use Wildcat to find books or other materials in our library.

Use the SUMMIT catalog to find books from our 36 partner libraries.  Since Chemeketa is one of our SUMMIT partners, you can order books via the SUMMIT catalog and if you wish, you can pick them up here.  For more information about setting that up please see the section of this page under "Library Cards".

Finding Articles from Magazines or Journals

From Linfield library's home page, use Ebscohost or Lexis-Nexis to find a wide variety of articles from both scholarly and popular periodicals.

For more databases by discipline area, select the link Articles and Library Databaseson the library's home page to go to a list of resources by subject.

Many of the articles indexed via these databases will be full text. In that case, you can click on the words "HTML" or "PDF" to open the entire article, which you can print or email to yourself. But some of the indexed articles may be only available here in print or microfilm, and some may not be available here at all. This is one situation when a Reference Librarian comes in handy. Until you have used the library often you may miss something we have. Be sure to ASK before leaving empty-handed!

Articles not here: Once you and our reference staff have determined an article isn't available here, contact your Chemeketa Community College's librarians about  Interlibrary Loan service for you for articlest.

Getting Books  found via your searches if they are not at Linfield or in Summit.  Contact your Chemeketa Community College's librarians about  Interlibrary Loan service for you for items not in Summit.

FInding a Place to Study in the Library
Feel free to use the building. Some areas are posted as quiet zones. There is a room with a fireplace. There are individual and group study rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be aware that when the library is full (often during midterms and close to finals) Linfield students have priority for study room space here.
