  • The Internet Archive's Text Archive
    Electronic access to scanned books and text files of books from various projects are gathered together in a searchable collection at the Internet Archive. Over 25,000 titles are available.

  • California Digital Library
    More than 1,400 electronic editions of academic books have been published online at the eScholarship Editions web site. All eScholarship Editions are available for free to UC faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, more than 25 percent of the books are available for free to the public. Hint: after you run a search, click on Show: Public Access Books to see books available to view.
