Installing Office 365 on an iPad

  • Make sure you have created an Apple ID as it will be needed for the installation.
  • Open a browser on the iPad.
  • Access portal.office.com and login with your Catnet credentials.
  • Select Get Office Apps.
  • Scroll down to the section that says “Get other Office apps for your iPad”.
  • Select “Get the app” underneath one of the programs you wish to install. Note: Outlook is not available from Office 365 as we have our own internal Exchange mail server.
  • Select Get -> Install.
  • You will be prompted to Sign In with an existing Apple ID or have the option to Create a New Apple ID.
  • You will see a circle with a square being outlined. Wait for this to finish and then click Open. You will see 4 informational screens before the login page appears.
  • When prompted, select Sign In and enter your Linfield email address. Select Next.
  • Enter your Catnet password.
  • You can now create and edit documents.
  • With the first app you downloaded now open, you can select Office 365’s “box of squares” on the lower left. This will bring you to other Office Apps you can download as you did the first one. You can also just follow these steps from the beginning to download other Office Apps.
