Modx - Add a Link on Your Page to Another Modx Page

Most of Linfield's web site resides within the Modx CMS so you no longer have to type the full address for most links. Modx has a "Link List" that you can use to select the page you want to link to.

Using the "Link List" from the Add/Edit Link window certainly works, but by now, that list has grown to thousands of pages so finding the page you want to link to is pretty tricky. Here's an easier way:
To the right of all the resources in the master tree of the site in the left frame of your administration window, you'll find a number. That's the unique ID of each resource. Instead of using the "Link List" menu, simply write in the resource ID in the url box in the Add/Edit Link window in this format - auxiliary-services/summer-camps/football-camp.html. See below:

The key advanatage to this is the ID stays fixed so if someone moves that page to another part of the site, your link will still work. That would not be true if your link pointed to the friendly url (www.linfield.edu/id/new-student.html). So whenever possible, this is the preferred way to link to a Modx web page.
