Make sure your computer is plugged into the network with an Ethernet Cable. Connectivity should be automatic, but if not, please refer to the instructions listed below for troubleshooting steps.
Phone cords will not work in the Ethernet jacks.
Open Start -> Control Panel.
(Home View layout - choose Network & Internet -> Network and Sharing Center ORClassic View layout - choose Network and Sharing).
Double Click on Manage Network Connection for Vista or click on Local Area Connection then Properties for Windows 7.
Vista users Right Click on your ethernet connection (usually Local Area Connection/LAN) -> select Properties. **If a User Account Control dialog window appears asking for permission to continue, click Continue button**
Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> click Properties button.
Select Obtain an IP address Automatically.
Select Obtain DNS server address Automatically.
Click OK button.
Click Close button.
Close any open windows.
Restart your computer.
Mac OS X
Apple menu (located at the top left corner of the desktop) -> System Preferences.
Select ShowAll (located in the top left corner).
In Internet & Wireless section, click on Network.
Select Ethernet from the list on the left.
Make sure the Configure IPv4 field is set to Using DHCP.
