Linfield College recognizes the need to provide a high quality-computing environment. All students’ residence hall rooms have Linfield Ethernet Network Connections (except Legacy) along with Wireless Network access (also available in most public areas of Linfield). We have two computer labs for general student use open 24 hrs/7 days a week, and a number of academic departments have computers available for student use.

Recommendations for a personal computer:

Wireless: An 802.11b/g/n network interface card on your computer will allow you access to Linfield's wireless network. Please note that certain sections of the campus are not wireless ready!

To Connect to the Linfield College On-Campus Network:

To connect wirelessly to the Linfield network, students will need to authenticate (log in) with their CATNet ID's. It is recommended that all personal computers have all current critical Microsoft updates installed and a current Anti-Virus program with the latest Anti-Virus updates. ITS recommends and encourages you to download and install all Microsoft and Anti-Virus updates before you arrive on campus.

CatNet ID’s & Student Email Accounts

CATNet ID’s and Linfield CATNet Accounts (email) are used for a variety of purposes: registering for classes, registering your computer on the Linfield Network, corresponding with professors, etc. Students can setup a CATNet ID online before arriving on campus. If you need assistance creating your CATNet ID after arriving on campus go to the ITS Support Desk in Mac Hall Rm. 106 for assistance. Your email address will generally be your first initial followed by up to 9 letters of your last name followed by @linfield.edu. Please make note of the CATNet ID assigned to you and the password you create.

Linfield Students can use WebMail at https://mail.linfield.edu to access the Linfield College email system.
