To Connect to the
Linfield College On-Campus Network:
Students using a Microsoft Windows operating system, e.g., Windows Vista or Windows 7, need to install Cisco Clean Access (a network authentication and validation security system) when they arrive on campus. Students that bring Mac computers only need to register on the Linfield network with their CATNet ID's. Personal computers are required to have all current critical Microsoft updates installed and a current Anti-Virus program with the latest Anti-Virus updates before they connect to the Linfield Network. ITS recommends and encourages you to download and install all Microsoft and Anti-Virus updates before you arrive on campus. Cisco Clean Access recognizes many anti-virus programs, among them are McAfee**, Norton, Avast, and TrendMicro. See below for a link to a complete approved AV List (once on the web page, scroll down to Clean Access AV Support Chart (Windows Vista / XP/ 2000).
**NOTE: McAfee anti-virus software is only
provided for Linfield students residing on the McMinnville campus. The McAfee
Antivirus software is available after you arrive on campus. There is no charge
for the McAfee software.
If you have an English language Operating System, please contact your RA or SA for setup/configuration information. If you have a Non-English language Operating System, please contact ITS at ext. 2553 for assistance with setup/configuration of your personal computer.
