HSCI 398: Health Care in Singapore
Health Care in Singapore is an off-campus service learning experience focusing on various aspects of health and healthcare in Singapore. In January 2012 students will be based and housed in Raffles Hospital, a 21st Century SE Asia integrated hospital and medical group practice. Students will: • gain cultural insights and understanding through collaboration with local Singapore based partners including Raffles Medical Group (the leading medical group practice in Southeast Asia) and the Singapore Public Health Ministry and Public Hospital Corporations; • visit historical, environmental, and health care sites in Singapore and Southern Malaysia; • and engage in integrative group discussions each evening at Raffles Hospital with health care leaders and professionals on that days learning activity or field visit.
