When we visited the cave homes in Xian I had expected them to be very cold and damp. Instead, the one we entered was somewhat warm inside. It still made me wonder how, without any dental or medical care, people could survive under these circumstances. Being allowed to enter one of these homes was a unique experience. Anne Prantl
