A lot has happened since my last blog post! I spent the last week traveling around Portugal with a friend from my program. It may have been one of the most spontaneous things I have ever done, as we planned the entire trip two days before we left. Half of the trip was dedicated to relaxing on beaches in the south, while the other half of the trip was spent in Lisbon. I have to say that I loved seeing more than one area in Portugal because I got a true “taste” of the culture.
Speaking of traveling, I also have the opportunity to spend next week in Italy and be a part of a tour program set up by Andy Steves (Rick Steves’s son). I am excited for a fast-paced tour of Italy and to see the Pope in Rome on Easter! I plan to talk about my Italy trip in my next post.
Many students have traveled a lot recently because it is getting to the point in the semester where we have random weeks off due to classes being over. Exams are coming up this week and soon enough students will have completed a semester at NUIG.
One thing I have noticed about Galway recently is the new additions to the weekend market. The warmer weather attracts more stands and tourists!
