Being at the Tala’e Nok Village Home has been a great experience! Today we had the opportunity to swim at the beach and drag net fish in shallow water. We started by receiving some instructions from a local fisherman. We broke up into two groups; each group had a net that was extended out into the ocean where water reached to our shoulders. When we made it out far enough we began to extend the net and also made sure that the bottom of the net was anchored and dragged by our foot to prevent fish from escaping the net. Once we had extended our net far enough, we slowly moved in towards shore to see what fish we had caught. Both our groups combined had a solid bucket full of fish! After a good day of fishing we ended our day by spending time with our home-stay families and eating a deliciously cooked Thai dinner at the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset.
