2014-02-02 Batik in Muslim Homestay

Entry Image
Finished Batik Art Work

The Muslim homestay was one of my favorite parts of this whole trip. It's been incredible to be truly emersed in the culture of these Thai Muslim people. We are staying in their homes, eating their foods, and participating in their cultural activities. We are learning so much. One of these activities has been batiking. This is a process of placing wax and dye on fabric to make beautiful designs. We had a lot of fun participating and getting creative as we all made our own fabrics.

It's been an incredible opportunity and I cannot wait to see what else we'll experience here in Thailand.
