Thanksgiving dinner in Bocas del Toro, Panamá. How could we complain about being sunburnt on Thanksgiving when it was snowing at home?
Well, we have 12 days left of our adventure in Costa Rica. Last week was our Thanksgiving break, and we all had incredible experiences! Most of us explored Puerto Viejo again, Bocas del Toro, Panamá, Panama City, or Guanacaste. We met people from all over the world with all different stories of travels. It was quite an inspirational experience, and we learned what it was like to be more tourist than student. I'm sure we can all agree that the break went by way too fast.
This week is our last week of classes and it is full of presentations, papers, and quizzes to prep us for our week of finals next week. We have a lot a lot a lot to do.
I don't think any of us are quite ready to head back to the world of cell phones, SUV's, and expensive food. I know we'll all miss our families, the food, San Ramón, and all of the memories we've made together that no one will understand but us.
We've created a new 'family' within our group and all of us feel so lucky to have been placed with the people we have spent this semester with. We could not ask for anything more or less. It has been a humbling experience to live with and connect with students from every major, family history, and social interest. Coming back is going to feel like a big secret that only we can fully comprehend. We've been through a lot as a group and nothing will break that bond.
