Journals from Costa Rica 2009
Immediately after our trip to Nicaragua, we had our week long Thanksgiving Break, so we all split off to explore different parts of the country and Central America. Some of us went back to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica because we loved it so much the first time, and then traveled south to Bocas del Toro in Panama. (Three countries in two weeks). It was a lot of traveling, but it was worth it. Now we have lots of stamps on our passports :)
A couple people from our group climbed Chirripo, which is the tallest peak in Costa Rica. On a good day you can see both the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans from the very top. It was cloudy on the east side, so they could only see the Pacific, but they said it was worth it. Another group traveled to the southwest part of the country to the National Park Corcovado. They saw toucans, crocodiles, spider monkeys, and lots of other cool wildlife. After all splitting off for a week, we are all back in Costa Rica safe and sound.
Now we have to buckle down for finals after these past two weeks of crazy adventures. We have lots of papers, projects, presentations, and tests to wrap up the semester. Its crazy that we only have two weeks left. I think we are all going to be sad to leave but excited at the same time to be home after such a long time. I think its safe to say that it has been a great semester for all eight of us.
