Study Abroad Timelines

JAN TERM TIMELINE (updated 1/13/2015; subject to revision)

Please note all study abroad applications are available only online, not in IPO.

January 2015 – Jan Term 2016 announcements out. Applications are due in IPO, Walker Hall Suite 120, by 5pm Friday, Feb. 20.

JAN TERM FAIRS - information tables about individual courses will be available

  • Portland campus: Friday Feb. 13, 2015; 12-1pm presentation overview of all the JT '16 off-campus courses in Peterson Hall room 301.
  • McMinnville campus:  February 10, 12, 16 18; table in the foyer of Dillin Hall during dinner time.
    -Friday, February 20, 2015 applications due for Jan Term 2016-submit in the International Programs Office, 8am-5pm

Portland Campus students have 2 options:

  1. Send applications in the US mail to IPO several days ahead, so the forms are received by IPO no later than February 20. 
  2. Turn in their completed apps to Lisa Burch in Loveridge Hall no later than noon on Friday February 20.

-Monday, February 23, 2015 IPO review of applications
-Tuesday, February 24 Student Affairs review of applications
-Friday, February 27  Faculty post interview days/times on-line
-Week of March 2 Qualified applicants invited to sign-up for interviews on-line by Friday, March 6.
-March 9 - 18  Faculty/student interviews
-Friday, March 20  Decisions due from faculty (select, alternate, non-select)
-Monday, March 30  Acceptance letters sent out. If their course is still open after spring break, faculty will have the opportunity to interview students who originally applied, but were not accepted to their first choice after spring break.
-Friday, April 17  2nd round decisions due from professors if applicable
-Late April  Accept, alt and non-select letters sent to 2nd round candidates
-Friday, May 1 $500 non-refundable deposit due from participants
-Friday, May 1 Faculty itineraries due
-Friday, May 1 Passport copies due/final name list to travel agents; passports must be valid at least until August, 2016.

Apps due in the International Programs Office, *Freshmen apps due Friday, Feb. 20, 2015
October 2 - 7  Review by Student Affairs
October 8 - 30  Qualified students invited for interviews
Friday, October 31  Decisions due
November 3 - 7  Decision letters sent out to students.
Friday, December 5  $500 Deposits due

Monday, February 9, 2015  Passport copies due from accepted fall applicants
Friday, February 20 Freshmen applications and all other late applications due in the International Programs Office, Walker 120
February  23-24  Student Affairs Review
February 25-March 5   Qualified students invited for interviews
Friday, March 6  Decisions due
Monday, March 9-11  Letters out
March 13-14   Mandatory Orientation Weekend, Jonasson Hall
(Friday 4-6pm; Saturday 8:30 am-5pm)

Passport copies due from spring applicants
