MLSP-398  Life and Culture in a Mexican Town

Community work and study in a community in the Copper Canyon of Northwestern Mexico in the clinic, service offices, or schools, learning about culture—daily life, rituals, history--about the Tarahumara Indians, the history of both groups, and the intricate ways in which human beings adapt to natural surroundings. Work in several academic projects and at people’s homes taking cooking or pottery classes or carrying out interviews about families' history. Exploring the beauty of the deepest canyon in North America.

Prerequisite: MLSP 202 or B+ or higher in MLSP 201
