IDST-298 Career Explorations
Want to learn how to translate your liberal arts degree into the job market? Time to be thinking about making the transition from student to professional! Learn how to identify your skills, how to interview and write a resume, how to network with professionals. Take an interest inventory, spend 7 days job shadowing professionals in fields of your interests and meet and talk with professionals from businesses, non-profits and government agencies. This class is especially for seniors (juniors will be considered) who haven't yet decided what they want to do. An intense program which requires a big time commitment during Jan Term but a great way to jump-start your job search and your career. All majors welcome.Special requirements: This course involves driving to job shadowing sites and assumes that participants will drive on their own. It may be possible for some students who are certified drivers to borrow a College vehicle. This should be arranged privately with the Physical Plant sometime in the fall to ensure vehicle availability. Please contact Terry Wymore at x2723.
