Employee Benefits
Linfield College offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of its overall compensation program. Among these benefits are Tuition Remission, a generous 403(b) retirement program, Flexible Spending Accounts, the choice of two medical insurance plans (an HMO and a PPO), and a dental and vision insurance plan. Linfield pays the full medical insurance premium for coverage of full-time employees (Employee Only coverage); and the full premiums of the Dental and Vision insurance for full-time employees and their eligible dependents. Employees may insure their eligible dependents in Linfield's medical plan via payroll deduction. Please refer to the Comparison Summary for fees.
In order to be eligible for most benefits, an employee must be regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week or 0.50 FTE. Linfield's contribution toward health insurance premiums are prorated based on FTE. Adjunct faculty and temporary employees are not eligible for health insurance benefits; however, they are eligible to contribute to Linfield's 403(b) Retirement Plan. Please refer to the plan document for each benefit for full details.

Flexible Spending Accounts
A Flexible Spending Account enables you to increase your take-home pay by decreasing your taxable income. You can reduce the cost of insurance premiums, medical expenses not covered by insurance, certain over-the-counter medicines and dependent daycare expenses by paying these costs on a pre-tax basis. Pre-tax denotes that you will not pay state, federal, or FICA withholdings on these earnings. Allegiance's website is www.allegianceflexadvantage.com. (Please note that due to legislatively mandated changes, beginning January 1, 2011 over-the-counter drugs and medicines can not be reimbursed unless prescribed by a medical practitioner to treat a specific medical condition.)
Life Insurance
Group life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance is provided by the College to all regular status employees working .50 FTE or greater. Basic life insurance provides two times the employee's annual salary to a maximum of $50,000. Employees may elect to purchase additional life and AD&D coverage for themselves or their dependents.
Disability Insurance
Short-term disability insurance (salary continuation for faculty) and long-term disability insurance is provided by the College to all regular status employees working .50 FTE or greater.
