Assistant or Associate Professor of Education

Linfield College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in education, to begin August 2009. 

Responsibilities for this position may include teaching undergraduate courses in foundations of education, general methods and management, teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students, student teaching seminar, and supervising student teachers. 

The Linfield Education program serves the undergraduate K-12 education degree programs that prepare students for initial licensure. The typical course load is 12 credits per semester, including the supervision of student teachers. Salary and benefits are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary scale.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Ed.D in Education or a related field who qualify for the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor are preferred, although applicants who are ABD by Summer 2010 may be considered. In addition to scholarly credentials, candidates must have enthusiasm for teaching in a small college atmosphere. Linfield College faculty members share a commitment to a liberal arts curriculum. Because of this, they are expected to teach core courses regularly and advise students on an ongoing basis. 

 

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of and experience with education and education teaching strategies and should have a minimum of three years K-12 teaching experience. Successful teaching experience at the college or university level is also preferred. 

The department is interested in candidates qualified to teach in our proposed ESOL endorsement program.
