Assistant Professor of English

Position Type: Teaching Campus: McMinnville Description:

Tenure-track assistant professor of literature, beginning July 1, 2010, committed to teaching a wide range of undergraduate literature courses and interested in joining a small department that offers undergraduate majors in literature and creative writing.

Normal teaching load is 6 courses per year, including an Inquiry Seminar and literature courses at both the introductory and upper-division levels. The department would especially welcome secondary interests in drama, gender studies, and other areas that might reinforce or extend our current offerings. We will be interviewing at the MLA in Philadelphia.

Linfield College is a selective, four-year, largely residential, comprehensive liberal arts college. Enrollment includes some 1,700 students on the McMinnville campus, with students coming from 25 states and many foreign countries. Linfield is an equal opportunity employer. Qualifications:

Requirements: Ph.D. in Shakespeare. In addition, clear ability to teach Renaissance, as well as Restoration and 18^th century literature, demonstrated proficiency as a teacher, and a record of publication and scholarship.
