Meet the Theta Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi. Established at Linfield in 1990, Alpha Phi was originally founded in 1872 at Syracuse University, and is now one of the largest sororities in North America. Alpha Phis are members of a sisterhood where there is encouragement, understanding, and opportunities to grow. Not only is Alpha Phi an organization dedicated to cultivating sisterhood and leadership, but as well, they advocate intellectual curiosity and service. The sisters of Alpha Phi are selfless, passionate, and fun loving. They treasure loyalty, scholastic ability, service, and character development. While Alpha Phis primary focus is Women’s cardiac care research and education, the Alpha Phi Foundation, the sisterhood’s philanthropy, also raises and awards funds for programs that advance leadership development and encourage academic excellence. Members also work in connection with the American Heart Association. Events for fundraising include Red Dress Gala, Annual Star Search talent show, and Mother-Daughter Tea. This years Star Search not only provided the campus with great student performances, but it was a huge success, raising $600! Alpha Phi is made up of eighty amazing women who are leaders on campus, as well as highly involved, spontaneous, and intelligent. Together they endeavor to better themselves and their community through their sisterhood.
