Joining a sorority or fraternity is a great way to make life-long friends, get involved in the community, and have tons of fun! We highly encourage everyone/anyone to go through recruitment and try something new. Whether or not you decide to join, it’s an awesome way to get to meet other Linfield students. College is all about breaking out of your shell and figuring out what life is all about, and Greek Life can serve as an effective guide throughout your journey. With a Greek system filled with scholars, athletes, musicians, and so much more, there’s a perfect place for everyone.
Recruitment at Linfield College occurs throughout the academic year. Fraternities and sororities host both formal and informal recruitment events. Formal recruitment takes place in the spring semester, and is much more structured than informal recruitment (which takes place throughout the fall semester), but both processes are a great way to meet new people and learn more about each chapter. For more information about specific recruitment events, you can contact the Linfield Panhellenic or Interfraternity Council.
Linfield College is a deferred recruitment campus, meaning first year, non-transfer students must wait until their spring semester to join a sorority or fraternity (you can read more about deferred recruitment here). Linfield College requires that students interested in joining the Greek Community are in good standing with the College and have a minimum 2.0 college GPA. Please note that each individual chapter has specific eligibility requirements for membership that may require the meeting of standards above those previously mentioned.
