2014-15 Linfield Fund Midyear Report

Every once in a while we experience something so powerful that our lives are changed for the better. We think back on it with fond memories, nostalgic laughter and wonderful lessons learned. For hundreds of Linfield students, that time is now. Wildcats, both online and residential, are preparing to become teachers, physical therapists, environmental researchers, governmental policy makers, nurses, journalists, business managers and community leaders. And we have you to thank. We are grateful for your gifts supporting our students and the programs that are preparing them for a lifetime of success.

Danielle Duman ’17 epitomizes the well-rounded educational experience that Linfield students receive year after year. As a sophomore, she has aided in local elementary schools and worked for America Reads to help her community, getting a taste for her major in elementary education. Her education is earning her more than a degree. The low faculty-to-student ratio of 11:1 has provided Danielle with strong mentorship from her advisor and professors and enabled her to explore her interests more deeply and to broaden her learning beyond the classroom.

“My professors took the time to get to know me and know all the activities I am involved in, and I really appreciated this because I was able to establish a more personal connection with them. All of the professors want to see their students succeed, and I think this is one of the many great things that powers a small college.”

Danielle’s involvement, whether volunteering, playing “Catball” on the women’s softball team, co-chairing the Student Alumni Association or serving as a Resident Life Advisor, shows the boundless opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom.

“I am thankful for scholarships and other gifts because they allow me to attend my dream school. Without the help, love and support of our many donors, my Linfield experience wouldn’t be possible."

You helped create these opportunities and made an important investment in the future. Thank you for the role you play in changing our students’ lives.
