2012-13 Linfield Fund Mid-Year Report

From providing scholarships to strengthening academic programs and everything in between, your gift to the Linfield Fund allows our students to experience a personalized education in a close-knit community. Your support ensures students like Taylor ’16 are able to attend Linfield and thrive while they are here.

This year, the Linfield Fund has provided scholarships for 504 McMinnville and Portland campus students who otherwise might not be able to attend Linfield. “My family and I would never have been able to fund my education without the generosity of people who make scholarships available. I am the first of my family to attend college, and I knew Linfield was the place I had to be to make my dreams come true,” says Taylor, who chose Linfield for its excellent athletic training program.

Your gifts support Linfield’s teaching faculty and strong academic programs that are recognized nationally. Gifts to the Linfield Fund allow our professors to focus on teaching and working with students. Though Taylor is a first-year student, she’s already become close with her professors, such as Tara Lepp, professor of health and human performance. As both her professor and advisor, Taylor says, “Professor Lepp has helped me adjust to college life. She really makes a commitment to being available to help her students, and I admire that.” And, your support of the Linfield Fund ensures Taylor has small class sizes in a robust liberal arts environment.

Giving to the Linfield Fund also supports campus and technology improvements. This year, we’ve improved our science facilities by constructing new labs and a new student interactive study area in Graf Hall. Renovations have resulted in a better space for the student health and counseling centers. By creating a positive learning and living environment, Taylor is able to succeed inside and outside the classroom.
