BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

 The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community..

The survey questions will focus on attitudes around data, big data, social media and analytics, and decision making for leaders.

The applications and essays will be reviewed by Bulwark’s marketing department and one winner will be declared during the course of each academic semester, both fall and spring. Any and all current students of accredited universities and colleges are welcomed to apply. Qualified candidates will have a proven record of high quality sales, considering both volume and frequency. Competitive candidates should be able to describe how their own creativity, honesty and determination brought sizable revenue or client agreements to their employer, as well as how they intend to further their sales skills into their future careers. “The world of business is built on sales,” said Seever. “High quality salesmen and women are the most underrated employees we have in our country. They are the faces and voices of our brands. They are just not selling a product. They are selling the value and experience of our companies in a one-on-one relationship building experience.”

The Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a deserving junior or senior enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States who is pursuing a major in either political science, history, government, or economics. This is a one-time award in the amount of $1,000.

The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.

Scholarship Criteria
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted.

Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.

You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

1. Some of the best life-lessons are the ones we learn from our mistakes. Share a lesson you learned when facing the consequences of bad decision-making as a driver or a passenger. Describe the situation and explain how it led to a valuable learning experience. 
   
   
2. Learning how to drive is a different experience for everyone because some may find it easy to accomplish while others struggle with the challenge. Describe your experience. What did it take for you to become a confident driver? What valuable lesson(s) did you learn--about yourself, others, or life in general--during or after the process?
   
   
3. You may have noticed that people tend to change over time. For example, you're probably not the same person you were as a freshman in high school. Think about the driver you were when you first obtained your driver's license. Maybe you were a young and reckless driver or perhaps a timid and careful driver. Does this transformation reflect changes in other aspects of your life (i.e. driving more carefully after a near-death experience, driving aggressively after losing your job, etc.)? If so, explain. 4. Although the vast majority of the country's population drives on a regular basis, there are still many people who do not. Are you one of them? What's keeping you from getting behind the wheel? 1.  Over the past 2 years a student must have completed a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work.

2.  Over the past two years a student must have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or greater.
