Linfield life: Mike Jones, playing with numbers

Numbers aren't the only things that feed the soul of Mike Jones, award-winning accounting professor at Linfield. It's not unusual to see him riding to campus on his Yamaha with his fiddle strapped to his back so he can practice in his office during lunch.

Like his love of music, Jones has a passion for teaching young minds. "It's fun to talk about things you know really well to people who are eager to learn about them," said Jones, who left a prominent accounting firm to come to Linfield more than 30 years ago.

He enjoys inspiring his students in the classroom. His students say his passion for accounting is contagious and makes a potentially dry topic interesting. Jones has traveled the globe and is an expert in international accounting.
