Travel
The English Department participates in the January Term programs and offers a travel course every year. In the past these have included courses in England in Shakespeare's history plays, Jane Austen's novels, and Samuel Johnson's London taught by Professor Ericksen; courses in the Authurian legends in England and the south of France taught by Professor Kernberger; and courses in Irish Literature in Ireland and in expatriate writers in France taught by Professor Drake.
In addition, we encourage English majors to take advantage of the opportunity to spend a semester abroad studying at our sister college in Nottingham, in Robin Hood and Lord Byron country.
