Other activities at Linfield and beyond:
I have served as the chairperson of the Economics Department since 2001. I
am also the Beta Chapter advisor to Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International
Economics Honorary Society. Outside the department I have served on the
Admissions and Financial Aid, Student Activities, Promotion and Tenure, and Staffing
committees, not to mention numerous faculty search committees around campus.
Outside of Linfield I’ve coached youth sports, primarily my son’s
soccer and baseball teams, and spent time as a classroom volunteer, Site Council
facilitator, and chess club advisor.
No, I can’t explain how I have the time for all of these activities,
but somehow it all works out.
Personal Information:
My wife and I are now in our third decade of marriage,
and it just keeps getting better. Our main activity is raising our son
and daughter, and managing our menagerie of pets. In addition to the traditional
dog and cats (3),
we have a turtle, guinea pig, tarantula, chickens,
and ducks.
The activities mentioned above take up most of our time,
but we also like to travel (trips to the beach especially), read, and watch movies. In
December 2006, my son and I traveled to Manchester, England, so that he could
watch his favorite soccer team, Manchester United.
