Dual Enrollment Program

Linfield College's Adult Degree Program has established Degree Partnership Programs that allow students to be jointly admitted and eligible to be co-enrolled at Linfield and a community college at the same time.  The degree partnerships are for students attending Chemeketa Community College, Portland Community College, Columbia Gorge Community College, Oregon Coast Community College, Linn-Benton Community College, Tillamook Bay Community College, Central Oregon Community College, and Clatsop Community College.

The PCC-CGCC-TBCC/Linfield Degree Partnership is open to students who plan to complete any major in the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees through Linfield’s Adult Degree Program. In addition Columbia Gorge and Linfield have a degree partnership especially for the AAS in Nursing students to the Online RN to BSN at Linfield.

The Degree Partnerships with Chemeketa, Central Oregon, Oregon Coast Community College, Linn-Benton Community College and Clatsop Community College, are limited to nursing students only, who are admitted to the Associate of Applied Sciences in Nursing (AAS) degree program. These partnerships provide for dual enrollment in Linfield courses while attending the community college, and provide a seamless transition after completion of the Associate Degree to enter the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Linfield through the Online RN to BSN program of study.

Advantages of dual enrollment are:

  • Provides a seamless process to reach the Bachelor’s degree level
  • Increases scheduling flexibility with access to online courses through Linfield College Adult Degree Program
  • Reduces total educational costs
  • Access to joint financial aid making funds available for costs at both colleges
  • Advising and support services available at both schools, including library privileges, regardless of student location
  • Free application to Linfield

To be eligible for the program, students must be in pursuit of an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree, an Associate of Science Transfer degree, or a degree program that is formally articulated between the institutions, for example the A.A.S. in Nursing.

Research has shown that 71% of students participating in these types of programs indicate they would recommend them to other students.  (Source:  Portland State University Research Update, Volume 9, Issue 3, Fall 2006).
