Dual Enrollment Program
Linfield College's Adult Degree Program has established Degree Partnership Programs that provide dual enrollment for students attending Chemeketa Community College, Portland Community College, Columbia Gorge Community College and Tillamook Bay Community College. This provides students the opportunity to attend classes at these four colleges while also being enrolled in the Linfield College Adult Degree Program.
The PCC-CGCC-TBCC/Linfield Degree Partnership is open to students who plan to complete any of seven majors in the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees through Linfield’s Adult Degree Program, plus the Health Sciences major in the BS degree on the Portland campus.
The Chemeketa/Linfield Degree Partnership is limited to nursing students only, who are admitted to the Associate of Applied Sciences in Nursing degree program at Chemeketa. This partnership provides for dual enrollment in Linfield courses while attending Chemeketa, and provides a seamless transition after completion of the Associate Degree to enter the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Linfield through the Online RN to BSN program of study.
Advantages of dual enrollment are:
* Provides a seamless process to reach the Bachelor’s degree level
* Avoid academic credit loss during the transfer process
* Reduced total educational costs
* Access to joint financial aid making funds available for costs at both colleges
* Improved access to comprehensive support services and information, including library privileges and advising, regardless of student location
* Reduced application fee (A savings of $75 on the Linfield College application)
To be eligible for the program, students must be in pursuit of an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree, an Associate of Science Transfer degree, or a degree program that is formally articulated between the institutions, for example the A.A.S. in Nursing.
Research has shown that 71% of students participating in these types of programs indicate they would recommend them to other students. (Source: Portland State University Research Update, Volume 9, Issue 3, Fall 2006).
