Linfield Alumni Reviews
Linfield’s RN to BSN online classroom is multi-generational and flexible which works for nurses at all points in their careers, but don’t just take our word for it -here is what some of our current students and alumni have to say about their experience with Linfield College.
Why did you choose Linfield’s RN to BSN program? What set it apart from other programs you were considering?
“Great reputation, convenience and flexibility of the program were the main reasons I chose Linfield versus other RN-BSN programs. My son was only one-year-old at the time and I was also working as a nurse. The online RN-BSN program at Linfield gave me the flexibility I needed to continue working and taking care of my child/family’s needs while equipping myself for professional growth and advancement.”
- Julia Salve MN-FNP, BSN, RN
“I knew that I wanted to attend a school that offered an online program but that was physically in the Portland area, which meant I had to choose between two schools. Linfield very quickly became the obvious first choice. There are many reasons for that:
1) The representatives that came to my community college to present Linfield were so genuine and earnest in their love of education and nursing,
2) Whenever I had a question and I emailed it to Linfield it was answered thoroughly and astonishingly promptly,
3) The international program for clinical is an absolute dream come true for me.”
-Samantha Chess, RN
(Current RN to BSN student)
“I selected Linfield over the other online RN to BSN programs I looked into because I wanted a reputable program that was fully online with no required campus visits. I also wanted a program that gave letter grades, as opposed to a pass/fail competency-based program, because I wanted to be a strong applicant for graduate nursing studies if I decided to continue on with my education after receiving my BSN.”
-Clarissa Thomas BSN, RN
What has made your Linfield education valuable?
The liberal arts environment is so well rounded and allows the opportunity to learn so much in ways that cater to individual interests instead of the traditional black and white curriculum requirements or other programs. I also love being able to pick up the phone and call someone and reach that person directly the same day.
- Vivienne Kelley RN, BSN
Personally, was there an “aha" moment that inspired your return to school for your BSN?
“A couple of my coworkers started talking about going back to school for their BSN, and I had already heard that several local hospital systems were requiring a BSN for new hires. I’ve always thought of myself as a top job performer, and I realized that without a BSN I wouldn’t even be able to keep up with the pack, much less be a top performer.”
-Samantha Chess RN, (current RN to BSN student)
