Course Description: Case studies and primary source readingshighlighting central theories, issues, andproblems in bioethics, generally, and biomedicalethics, specifically. Bioethical concernsincluding the right to live and die, paternalismversus autonomy and the patient's bill of rights,biomedical experimentation and research,reproductive technologies, social andinstitutional justice, and healthcare duties,responsibilities, and relationships. Bothnormative ethics and metaethics considered.Offered spring of even-numbered years.4 credits (UQ)
