Careers For An Online Coaching Certificate

For many of us, sports aren’t simply a hobby or something to watch on television; they’re a passion that we think about every day. An online coaching certificate from Linfield College Online and Continuing Education can offer you the information and skills needed to turn that love into a life-long career.

Youth Sports Coach

An obvious way to put your new skills to use is as a coach for youth sports. The online classes offered at Linfield College can provide you with the background knowledge needed to formulate winning strategies in various athletic programs, from football and basketball to softball and volleyball. While the final score of each game is certainly important, another emphasis of youth sports is development of life skills, such as the value of teamwork. Taking classes that focus on soft skills, such as leadership and mental health in athletes, can help you serve as a mentor to kids during a critical phase in their development.

Skills Coach

Within our Coaching Certificate program, you’ll be able to take several HHPA (Health, Human Performance and Athletics) courses, which teach the physiological principles of the human body. With this knowledge, you can develop training regimens to improve clients’ strength, speed and endurance. After obtaining certification, you can use your new skills to help athletes sharpen their gifts and maximize in-game performance.

Athletic Trainer

Another way to stay connected to the field is as an athletic trainer. Many of the classes offered in this program are designed to help you understand how the body works, how to recognize the signs of injury and how to provide basic treatment, such as taping and bracing, when faced with common sports-related injuries. In addition to a coaching certificate, certifications in first aid and CPR are required. This helps ensure that you’re prepared for true emergency situations.

If you’re not content just watching from the sidelines, read more about the Coaching Certificate Program available at Linfield College. The wide range of classes available provides you with a broad skill set and knowledge base that can be applied to a variety of job choices after graduation, so you can channel your passion for sports into a satisfying career.

For the second year in a row, Linfield College Online and Continuing Education is encouraging registered nurses to apply for its online RN to BSN degree program by waiving the $50 application fee for all qualified applicants from May 1–14. Students need only go to the application page and select the National Nurses Week Fee Waiver option when applying.
With the RN to BSN degree program, all core classes are offered each term, and convenient scheduling options are available. Throughout their Linfield education, students have access to one-on-one advising with both a faculty and an academic advisor, as well as technical support and tutoring services. A capstone clinical opportunity is also built into the program, offering students an opportunity to heighten their online learning by applying it directly to a community service experience.
Linfield College Online and Continuing Education offers a unique opportunity for registered nurses to earn their bachelor of science degree: students are not required to take any exams throughout their course of study, as the program and its staff recognize and respect that these are already competent, working nurses. Accordingly, Linfield offers a part-time curriculum that allows students to develop professionally while maintaining employment.
This 100 percent online program provides a path for working nurses to prepare for leadership and management opportunities in the healthcare profession. “We are excited to be able to honor and assist our working nurses with this fee waiver,” said Lisa Knodle-Bragiel, Linfield director of admissions.”Nurses work hard, and their work is important. We want to recognize their dedication to the profession during National Nurses Week,” Knodle-Bragiel said.
Applicants who are interested in starting Summer term (June 19) are especially encouarged to apply now, although students can apply for ANY term using the free application.
The length of time needed for the RN to BSN degree program at Linfield College Online and Continuing Education varies for each student, as the program aims to accommodate the demands of each student’s personal and professional schedules. Financial aid is available, as are opportunities for international studies while completing the capstone service learning project.
