“OTHERS FIRST”
The mission of the Linfield College Community Public Safety & Security Department (hereby referred to as “LC CPS” or College Public Safety) is to enhance the quality of campus life by focusing on solutions and fostering a safe and secure environment for the campus community to pursue a positive work and educational experience. CPS will endeavor to accomplish this by establishing a partnership with the campus community that encourages mutual respect, understanding, cooperation and a fundamental desire to develop problem-solving strategies to address safety and security on Linfield’s campuses.
Director’s Message to the Linfield Community
Welcome to a new school year.
Living and working in a tranquil environment like Linfield can cause us to forget that crime and other problems can impact us just as they do any other community outside of the College. The purpose of this message is to equip you with the information you need to in order to enhance your safety while at the College.
The Department of Linfield College Community Public Safety & Security is the primary department at the College charged with creating a safe and secure environment. This task, however, is not one we can accomplish alone. Crime prevention is the anticipation, recognition of a crime risk and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it - this is everyone’s responsibility. We ask you to join us in these efforts by reading the information provided in our website and referring to it often.
Our efforts to maintain a safe and secure environment rely on the ability to develop collaborative relationships with the many communities that make up Linfield. We believe that through partnering and problem solving, we can continue to make Linfield one of the safest colleges in the nation.
Please always feel free to stop by and visit us at Cozine Hall (Building 18) or contact me at 503-883-2602 or email rcepeda@linfield.edu if you have any questions.
We hope that your stay at Linfield will abound in good memories.
Robert A. Cepeda, Chief
Director of Linfield College Community Public Safety & Security
Linfield College CPS & Law Enforcement
