A native of Salem, Oregon, David Massey graduated from Linfield College in 1978. In 1982 he completed his Masters of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, New York. Shortly thereafter he became the protestant chaplain at the University of Rochester. After a period of time as a senior pastor in two American Baptist Churches, David returned to his first love – college chaplaincy – by returning to Linfield. Prior to his appointment as Linfield’s chaplain he completed doctoral studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary with an emphasis in pastoral counseling, thanatology and applied theology. Besides being Director of Religious Life (chaplain), David is an assistant professor of religious studies.
David’s hobbies include fishing, stained glass work, and rock hounding with his family.
