| Profile: | Yamhill County is currently acting on a 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness. As a part of this plan, a Homeless Count is conducted each year to survey the number of homeless individuals, families, and children in the community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist in various capacities on the day of the count, January 27th, 2010 |
| Description: | TEAM VOLUNTEER: Survey people who are homeless on January 27th, 2010; SITE VOLUNTEER: Work at a specific site to administer surveys and serve refreshments on January 27th, 2010; MEDIA VOLUNTEER: Distribute promotional material prior to the Homeless Count; HOT-LINE INTAKE VOLUNTEER: Answer incoming calls from those who are homeless but cannot make it to a site to be counted. 3-4 hour shift on January 26th or 27th. BILINGUAL VOLUNTEER: Assist in the translation of materials, administering survey, or answering the hotline prior to and during the count; DONATION COORDINATOR: Will collect and distribute donations for the count including: coffee, baked goods, utensils, hats, and gloves; OTHER COORDINATOR POSITIONS are available which require more time and commitment prior to the count: Teem Leader, Site Coordinator, Mapping Coordinator, Media Coordinator, Donation Coordinator, Bilingual Coordinator, Youth Coordinator |
