Community Service

Independent Living Program Volunteer

Organizaion: Rainbow Family Services
Profile: Rainbow Family Services has been serving the Yamhill County community since 1967, serving at-risk youth and families. At RFS we encourage our customers to get in touch with their own dreams and build on their own strengths. Then we help build a bridge to the resources they need to achieve their goals.
Description: There are approximately 3,000 youth between the ages of 13 and 21 every year in the Oregon Foster care system. Many will "age out" of the system at age 18. The Independent Living Program (ILP) assists youth in developing independent living skills and preparing for life as a responsible adult.
