Alternative Spring Break

Northwest Sustainability Challenge (March 20-27, 2010):Want to do something about climate change? Then, immerse yourself for the week in regional efforts to live more sustainably.  Learn from organizations in Portland and on the Oregon Coast about their sustainability initiatives, volunteer on green projects, and then bring your knowledge back to McMinnville where you'll take part in creating a sustainable project that will serve to educate the Linfield and McMinnville communities.Estimated cost: $200-$300 


 

Habitat Collegiate Challenge (March 20-27, 2010): Gain experience constructing a home and learn about affordable housing needs in a regional community. Participants will spend the week volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge in the Pacific Northwest. Habitat for Humanity works to eliminate substandard housing by working with families to build simple, decent, affordable homes.  Help give a low-income family a hand up. Estimated cost: $250
