Identification Cards
Linfield College identification cards are available at Cozine Hall in the LC CPS Office. Your first Linfield ID card is provided free of charge. The replacement cost for a lost card is $15. Broken or damaged cards should be replaced. The first broken/damaged card replacement is free, however, replacements thereafter will be $5. LC CPS office business hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For the safety of the community, report lost or stolen cards to LC CPS immediately at 503-883-SAFE (7233).
Remember, loaning ID cards to any other person for the purpose of entering a College facility or residence hall without being accompanied by the legitimate holder is prohibited. Linfield ID cards serve as official identification of Linfield students, and must be carried at all times. They must be shown to LC CPS personnel and Residence Life staff upon request.
Blue Light and Yellow Box Phones
In an effort to maintain a safer campus, the College maintains eleven Blue Light and Yellow Box courtesy phones. These phones are strategically located throughout the campus. The phones connect directly to LC CPS by pressing the "call" button. Please use these phones to report suspicious circumstances, request patrol escorts, jump starts or simply to contact LC CPS directly.
Remember, these phones are for the safety of our campus community. Intentional misuse of these phones is considered false reporting and subject to disciplinary action.
Courtesy Rides
LC CPS provides courtesy rides for campus community members who may require assistance due to medical conditions or for safety concerns.
Contact LC CPS either at 503-883-SAFE (7233) or via a Blue Light phone or a call box located outside most residence halls.
Campus Resource Officer Program (CROP)
The CPS Campus Resource Officer Program is an integral part of Linfield College. The CROP function is similar to a school resource officer, community service officer or crime prevention specialist. The responsibilities of the Campus Resource Officer (CRO) include:
- Liaison between the student body and Residence Life staff
- Responsible for education on a variety of subjects related to crime and safety
- Developing programs for campus community awareness of crime and crime prevention
Please contact Officer Donovan Owings for further information at dowings@linfield.edu.
Key Services
It is important that all campus community members responsibly carry their keys and access cards with them at all times.
For those very occasional accidental lock outs, students should begin by trying to find a Residence Life staff member to let them in. If the student is unable to locate a Residence Life staff member please contact LC CPS for assistance.
Residence Life staff and CPS staff will record the number of times that a given student requests a key-in due to an accidental lock out. Abuses of the courtesy service could result in sanctions or monetary fines.
