Crime Prevention A-Z

About Crime Prevention

What is Crime Prevention?

Crime Prevention is the "anticipation, recognition and appraisal of a crime risk and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it."

The College's crime prevention philosophy is one of eliminating or minimizing criminal opportunities whenever possible, and encouraging campus community members to be responsible for their own safety and security.
The concept of Crime Prevention is a philosophy based upon the belief that crime rates can be curbed by the actions of a dedicated, informed and united community.

The Linfield College Community Public Safety & Security Department provides the LC community crime prevention services. The CPS team assists the College community in addressing concerns which may impair the full potential of your Linfield experience. We welcome your calls and are available for consultations, and presentation revolving around various issues of personal safety, and pro-active crime prevention issues. Seminars and workshops are held throughout the year with various groups upon request.
