Concert IV: Exuberance

Our season finale will open with Franz Josef Haydn's Symphony No. 59, the "Fire Symphony." Aaron Copland's ballet suite from Appalachian Spring will round out the first half. Our performance will replicate the orchestration used by Copland for the first performances with Martha Graham and her dance company. The season will conclude with Symphony No. 5 of Franz Schubert, a work exuding lightness, fresh air, and youthful optimism.
